Features of Interparliamentary Cooperation Relations between the Russian Federation and Latin American States

The article is devoted to the study of the role of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in interparliamentary cooperation with Latin American states. The author analyzes the features and significance of this interaction in the context of the modern geopolitical situation, focusing on strengthening Russia’s foreign policy positions and promoting its strategic interests. The main areas of cooperation are considered, including diplomatic cooperation, support for a multipolar world order, the development of economic ties and ensuring international security. The work emphasizes that, despite the traditional underestimation of the role of the Federal Assembly in foreign policy, it is important for the formation and implementation of Russia’s international strategy. Special atten-tion is paid to Russia’s interaction with the key states of the region – Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, as well as Russia’s participation in international parliamentary organizations such as PARLATINO and PARLACEN. The author concludes that for the effective development of interparliamentary relations between Russia and Latin America, it is necessary to actively involve legislative bodies, which will allow them to adapt to global challenges and strengthen Russia’s position in the international arena.
