With joint co-cultivation, strains of Enterobacter spp., Citrobacter spp., Serratia spp., Proteus spp. bacteria isolated from patients with any localized infectious process show high adhesive, hemolytic (α-, entero-, thiol-dependent hemolysin), lecithinase, DNA-ase activities and LT-enterotoxicogenity more often than monocultures.
