The aim of the study was to develop a structural-processual model of the formation of personal resilience, consisting of three stages: perception and emotional assessment of a difficult life situation and its consequences, understanding of a way out of this situation and the development and implementation of an algorithm for getting out of the situation that has arisen. arious scenarios for each stage were examined. The following characteristics of resilience were identified: processuality, effectiveness, subjectivity, predictability, individuality, practice-orientedness, and determinism. Using the model to study the characteristics of difficult life situations faced by young people in the South, we identified the determinants of the priority of conscious and socially significant resilience in the ethnic consciousness of the younger generation: high trust and mutual respect between generations; intergenerational continuity and strong ties between generations; the conscious authority of the older generation and consideration of their experience in overcoming difficult life situations; and personal, trusting, and respectful communication between generations. This constitutes the novelty of the study.
