Resume Objective: using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to evaluate the characteristics of pathological changes in bone tissue of the knee joints in patients with Baker cyst and investigate compliance with the degree of damage stages grading scale osteoarthritis radiographic criteria Kellgren-Lawrence (K-L). Materials and Methods: This study included patients (38-82 years) with a cyst Baker accidentally detected during ultrasound veins of the lower extremities. People were subjected to a single assessment by MRI of the knee joint concerned. MRI images were made in three dimensions using 3D gradient-echo protocol. Independent radiologist to evaluate the presence and severity of osteophytosis, intraosseous edema and subchondral cysts. Stage osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee was identified by radiographs in a standing position in the standard two projections, with the use of K-L scale. Results: In this study, the results of a survey of 20 people, whose average age was 57.2 years. According to the radiological criteria scale K-L two were assigned to the 0 degree to 5 people to 1, 2, 4 degrees and 3 - had a 2 degree change. Three subjects (15%) in any of the parts of the joint osteophytes were detected in 11 (55%) - were verified in two or more areas. Accumulation of fluid in the joint cavity was detected in 17 (85%) patients. In the group of patients with obvious signs of pronounced synovitis predominated joints IV stage of the K-L - 3 joints. Subchondral cysts were observed in the study are extremely rare, only 3 patients (15%), Zavisomosti subhondraltnyh number of cysts on the degree of osteoarthritis has not been revealed Fifteen (75%) individuals had varying degrees of osteophytosis least part of the change turned out to be the area of the patella and tibial intercondylar hill - 8 ( 40%) and 2 (10%), respectively. Outbreaks of bone marrow edema visualized in the condyles of the femur and tibia in 11 (55%) of cases, mainly in the medial. Much less often (5%) is bone marrow visualized in the patella. In the group with MRI features intraosseous edema varying degrees predominated joints stage IV-A through K-14 joints (70%). Conclusion: Our results suggest that intra visualized degenerative lesions have different weight as risk factors for the development of a cyst Baker. Thus, it can be assumed that the bone changes, visualized by MRI, but reflect the duration of the existence of chronic synovitis that leads to an increase in intra-articular pressure, and as a result the formation of a cyst Baker.
