Features of translation metaphors in English-language literary texts

The given article concerns the issues concerning the strategies of translation of metaphors in literary texts. Classifications of metaphors given in the researches of different linguists are presented. The article also analyses the translation shifts used by the translator of “A Blackjack Bargainer” by O’Henry. The article also analyses the main strategies used for translation of metaphors, such as calquing, translation, remetaphorisation, demetaphorisation, equivalent reanslation, and elimination of metaphors.
