The characteristics of the narration in the novel 'Slam'' by Nick Hornby

The article deals with the narration of the novel 'Slam' by a contemporary British author Nick Hornby. The characteristic of the main character's idiolect is given in the article in connection with the main features of his personality. One of the most significant aspects of the novel narration examined in the article is the imitation of the spoken language in the literary work (or the so-called 'teenage skaz') which is represented at the every level of linguistic structure of the text. The analysis of the novel narration also involves the peculiarities of the interaction between the narrator and the reader, and of the narration composition.
