This paper describes the basic concepts of post-graduate teacher education in Germany, forming its categorical apparatus, as well as detailed consideration of the generic concept of the system: "Further Education". An attempt to analyze the main aspects of the content categories to reflect the peculiarities of the concept, identify the place of further education teachers in the system of "continuing education".
