Features of teaching computer science in primary school

The information age and modern society require children to have the necessary skills, such as the ability to receive, interpret and evaluate a significant amount of data that they can get in primary school. The paper analyzes the need to study computer science, starting from primary school age. The goals that are set for the teacher and students are considered. The author describes the trends of primary general education and their relationship with the scientific community's understanding of computer science in primary school. Various points of view on the methodology of teaching computer science in primary grades are presented. Conclusions are drawn about the current state of methods of teaching computer science in primary school. Recommendations are given on the need to use specialized software and game technologies.
