The study investigates the transfer of the youth social involvement from the virtual environment to the real one and vice versa. The frequency of activity stage implementation is analyzed in the context of real and virtual environments. The following activity stages have been revealed: goal setting, choice of motives, planning, finding a way to do an activity, identifying means of doing an activity, implementation of activity, assessment of results, feedback. The research involved 214 respondents aged 15-24 from Balakovo, Saratov, and Moscow. The most and least significant activity stages are determined for both environments. Identifying means of doing an activity, getting or giving feedback on its results are the most important stages for the virtual environment while goal setting and the choice of motives are of low importance. The implementation of activity plays a pivotal role in the real space while the choice of motives and feedback are of little significance to it. An attempt is made to describe an element of the mechanism for transferring the social involvement from one environment to another from the perspective of the activity-based approach.
