Features of development of the mental model in adolescents with delinquent behavior

The paper considers the features of the development of the mental model in adolescents with delinquent behavior as a psychological factor that is formed in a dysfunctional family. The article presents the materials of an empirical study conducted on a selection of adolescents from 14 to 17 years old and their mothers with delinquent and law-abiding behavior. The obtained results suggest that adolescents who commit antisocial acts have a deficit of the mental model, due to the cognitive inability to understand their own mental states and the states of another person. These competencies are formed in the families of teenagers whose mothers prefer disharmonious parenting styles. Knowing and taking into account the psychological characteristics of adolescents with delinquent behavior will allow you to influence them during psychological correction work, including the process of restorative mediation.
