Features of the development of cognitive processes in children with speech disorders and the ways of their remedy

The article discusses the aspects of developing cognitive mental functions in children with speech disorders in the context of the upcoming schooling. Emphasis is placed on their relations with speech, problems of direct communication, the role of speech in the implementation of activities, including planning and control. We have summarized the relevance of developing cognitive processes in children with speech disorders due to the importance of acquiring an arbitrary character by cognitive processes, expanding general ideas and creating cognitive motivation. We have emphasized the role of speech disorders in the manifestation of deviations in developing other mental processes. There is a need to take this fact into account when organizing remedial educational process.
