The author deals with the determination of the functions of the professional activity of the science students and the structure of the mathematical tooling on the basis of the analysis of the professional and educational standards of the science profiles of training. There is substantiated the model of the professional training of the students of the science profiles based on the practice-oriented approach by the means of the mathematical tooling.
