Features of socio- psychological adaptability of an individual depending on his attitude to alcohol

The paper touches on the problem of the formation of the socio-psychological adaptability of an individual depending on his attitude to alcohol. In the course of the research, the method "diagnosis of socio-psychological adaptation" by C. Rogers, R. Diamond and the method "diagnosis of interpersonal relationships" by T. Leary were applied. It is concluded that socio-psychological adaptability is higher among workers who use alcohol, but this happens due to their ignoring of distracting factors, reduces the importance of obstacles for this group of respondents and increases the likelihood of extreme behavior. Workers who use alcohol have low self-esteem, a pronounced desire for dominance (according to T. Leary's method), desire to escape from reality into a world of illusions, fantasies. The obtained data can be used by psychologists in developing recommendations in order to increase the effectiveness of the prevention of alcohol abuse.
