This study is focused on the educational adaptation of first-year students in conditions of self-isolation (complete transition from full-time to distance learning), taking into account the level of pre-university training of students to study at university. Due to the unplanned full transition from full-time studies to distance in March 2020, associated with a complex epidemiological situation in Russia. The adaptation was partially incomplete, because freshmen were unable to adapt to the new learning environment in the mode of self-isolation. The aim of the work is to identify the features of educational adaptation of first-year students in conditions of self-isolation and transition from full-time to distance learning. The pedagogical research was conducted on the basis of the Road Department of the North-Eastern Federal University.
