Features of temporal perspective in hearing impaired children of older adolescence

The research interest of modern scientists is focused on the issues of interpersonal interaction of hearing-impaired children, peculiarities of their self-perception and the surrounding reality, developing higher mental functions in ontogenesis against the background of sensory deficiency. However, it is revealed that the number of scientific works disclosing the peculiarities of temporal orientations of adolescents with hearing impairment is insignificant, while the need for them is obvious. The aim of this study is to investigate the specific features of temporal perspective in hearing-impaired adolescents and to identify correlations between its indicators and executive functions in order to further develop a correctional and developmental program aimed at optimizing the latter and changing the temporal perspective towards balance. According to the study, conventionally healthy adolescents are more focused on enjoying events in the present, while their hearing-impaired peers reflect on the implications of their behavior in the future, but differ in a less sentimental attitude to past experiences and do not regard it as meaningful for the present.
