From visual to verbal: Sylvia Plath's works and cinema

The paper presents a brief analysis of several examples when cinema penetrates the works by Sylvia Plath at the level of themes as well as in the form of special poetic techniques. The place of visual arts in the poet's works cannot be overestimated. At the beginning of her career she even faced the dilemma whether to become an artist or to dedicate oneself completely to literature. Despite the fact that literature won Plath continued drawing, and her special receptivity to visual images left an imprint on her literary work.
