Church fathers, scholastics and ecclesiastical figures in Federico da Montefeltro's Studiolo in Urbino

In Federico da Montefeltro's studiolo in his Urbino palace, there was a series of 28 portraits of prominent men. Its difference from other similar series made in the Renaissance is the presence of the images of Christian characters. The Church fathers and ecclesiastical figures, scholastic philosophers, outstanding poets and scientists, together with ancient characters, create the image of an ideal versatile person, with whom the office's owner draws himself close.
