Attitude to the image of LGBT community among representatives of various social and age groups in Russia

The paper presents the results of an empirical study aimed at defining and analyzing the attitude to the image of LGBT community among representatives of various social and age groups in Russia. The study involved 84 people with different educational background, living in the Russian Federation aged 17-41 years. The study has revealed that in general the attitude to the image of LGBT community among the respondents of different social and age groups in Russia is not related to their gender, age, as well as to aggressiveness, tolerance and the projective psychological defense mechanism. There is given an explanation of some tendencies of the attitude of members of the three identified age groups (adolescence and youth, early maturity, mid-maturity) to LGBT taking into account their dominant psychological defense mechanism. It is noted in the article that the attitude to LGBT community in various social and age groups is rather positive and neutral.
