The problem of the study was the cases in the blogosphere of Russian school teachers posting personal information and visual content, which was followed by the reaction of representatives of the parental community, who demanded appropriate digital behavior from teachers. The aim of the study was to analyse Russian teacher’ perceptions of digital etiquette and teacher’s norms of behavior in social networks and the Internet. The hypothesis was that there was a lack of consensus among educators on many important issues regarding digital self-presentation on social media and the Internet. The results obtained indicate that teachers are courteous, pedantic, polite and highly empathic when communicating on social media and the Internet. At the same time, there is a certain mixing of personal and business spaces and the lack of a common understanding of the rules of digital behavior. All this testifies to the emerging digital culture of the Russian teacher and demonstrates the need to create a digital code of the Russian teacher.
