The successful professional development largely depends on students’ adaptation to vocational education process at the university. The author analyzes teaching contradictions from the perspective of their emergence and the possibilities of overcoming them. The research is based on modern views of scientific teachers on students’ vocational adjustment and forms of its successful implementation. Since teaching contradictions at the technical university arise from incompatibilities between outdated educational concepts and theories and changing, complex requirements for the personality in the society or professional community, their identification is the basis for teaching process improvement. The author elaborates on teaching arrangement contradictions and personal and creative contradictions. To eliminate these contradictions, it is necessary to develop foundations of student’s vocational adjustment to the study at the technical university because vocational adjustment differs from adaptation to the academic process.
