The study deals with the problem of developing the 6-7 years children’s awareness of their skills in training situations. The results of theoretical analysis of approaches to understanding the nature of awareness are presented. The research reveals that the lack of awareness of children’s skills is due to underestimating the capabilities for training situations simulation and failure to use it in preschool education practice. The educational environment for developing the 6-7 years children’s awareness of their skills in training situations is of great interest. The study focuses on the arrangement of informational, instructional, and transforming stages aimed at developing children’s initiative, perseverance in achieving their goals and getting results as well as determining the educational environment for each stage. Thus, the enriched and broadened children’s views on skills acquired in training situations are the primary educational environment at the informational stage, teaching children to assess their skills properly is a priority at the instructional level, and training situations designed for self-assessment of skills by children are the essential educational environment at the transforming stage. The author makes particular reference to the need to work with teachers and parents with a view to increasing their knowledge, ideas, desires and the abilities to develop the awareness of the skills in children.
