Educational potential of mathematics in formation of engineering culture of higher school students

The article discusses organizational principles of mathematics training in a technical higher school in the context of adoption of the educational standards of new generation (FGOS-3) for vocational education. According to the general objectives of education the mathematics’ tasks include the formation of engineering culture of future experts, and in this context the authors review its resources. The directions of development of the mathematics teaching techniques, which would take into account the requirements of engineering education, are suggested. It is emphasized, that there is a need for integration of mathematical and engineering disciplines as a means of effective implementation of training programs.
