The article offers a brief overview of the challenges facing Churches in the 21st century that urgently need to be addressed. The author speaks of American Protestant churches, however upon closer examination, it is easy to see that these problems are common to other Christian denominations. Most of the problems appear and aggravate at the intersection of the Church, social and personal constituents of the life of a modern person, and all of them - for one reason or another - are all-pervading and pose a very real threat of destruction of the foundations of the church life, starting with human as creation of God. However, any problem always - more or less openly or covertly - contains a requirement to solve it, to solve it by those who see it, realize it and do not want to come to terms with it. Being a temptation for modern Сhurches, at the same time, the problems in question become a challenge to the Church and the author urges everyone to pay attention to this challenge. A period of trials - as history shows - can be a period of uplift if the Church and human accept the challenge and adequately respond to it.
