Translator = censor? Ideology as a motive for adaptive manipulations in translation

In the paper the influence of ideological factor being one of the main components of translator’s discursive environment on translation process and text transformation is analyzed. Through the prism of interpretative semiotics the author discusses the problem of conscious and unconscious normalization of the source text in compliance with ideological norms and values relevant for the target culture.
