Russian translations in British culture always appeared in answer to particular challenges in either political or social and cultural areas. It is of particular interest that even translations of folklore tales have been caused by certain interests at work in the British culture. ‘Russian library’ project launched in 2015 looks to change the image of Russia in the global context and aims to close up certain gaps in Russian literature abroad.
