The article examines the distinctive features of the relationship between individual perfectionism and the capacity for personal growth and self-change. Analysis of current studies has been conducted to explore the connection between perfectionism and various psychological variables, behavioral characteristics, and the health status of individuals. The empirical part of the article presents the results of a study involving a sample of 318 individuals aged between 20 and 45 years. Data collection methods used in the study included: the “Scale of Initiatives for Personal Growth” by K. Robichek (adapted version by S.P. Elshansky, A.F. Anufriev, et al.); the “Questionnaire for Diagnostics of the Potential for Personal Self-Change” by V.R. Manukyan, I.R. Murtazina, and N.V. Grishina; and the “Multidimensional Scale of Perfectionism” by P. Hewitt and G. Flett, adapted by I.I. Gracheva. The analysis of the results was carried out through a comparative analysis using the Mann - Whitney U-test, as well as correlation analysis employing Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The findings of the study confirmed the hypothesis regarding the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the level of individual perfectionism and the capacity for self-change and self-development.
