Cavitation treatment of food production wastewater from fat-containing impurities: prospects of application

Бесплатный доступ

The food industry is one of the leading industries consuming a large amount of drinking water in technological processes. As a consequence, it generates significant volumes of wastewater with high concentrations of pollutants and exceeding permissible norms of sanitary and toxicological harm indicators. The article discusses the problem of water pollution with wastewater, being a result of food production. Animal and vegetable fats used in food industry are main sources of water pollution. The paper considers the application of ultrasonic cavitation for the treatment of fat-containing wastewater. Experimental studies determine the degree of wastewater purification under the influence of ultrasonic cavitation and the choice of rational modes of cavitation treatment. It demonstrates the effectiveness of ultrasonic cavitation method of cleaning fat-containing wastewater in food enterprises.
