Pilot study on the effectiveness of collective assignments in teaching composition to design students

The article outlines a pilot study of the inclusion of collective assignments in a composition course for students. The aim of the study is to identify the effectiveness of methods, tools and pedagogical conditions in the organization of collective learning methods in the composition classes using the new features of IT; comparison of the results of individual and collective work of students. The relevance of the study is related to the new requirements in the field of design education, including, among other things, teamwork skills. Research method: experimental work with the participation of the Educational Center for Graphic Technologies of ITMO University students, studying the “Computer Technologies in Design” training program. As a result, a pilot experiment is implemented, during which student works are created, subsequently evaluated by experts according to certain criteria. Comparison of the result of individual and collective work of the students is carried out. The research methods, evaluation criteria and the work of experts were formed. Based on the results of the pilot study, methodological recommendations are prepared for group lessons. Conclusions: based on the pilot experiment results, it was decided to continue research in this direction in order to improve and complicate the conditions of tasks performed in groups, for students and teachers to acquire empirical experience in joint work.
