The article presents and describes the most common food additives used in the composition of human-consumed products. The most common are: monosodium glutamate, gluten, aspartame, orthophosphoric acid. The process of using food additives is justified, as well as the reasons for their widespread use at the present time are considered. The possible consequences for the human body due to the use of products containing food additives are characterized.
