The article deals with the issue of studying the language contacts of the Kalmyk language and the language of the Oirat of Mongolia based on the vocabulary layer of the theme “Landscape”. By comparison there was used the material of the old writing Mongolian, Khalkha-Mongolian and Buryat languages. The existence of the similar words represents the general Mongolian layer and the united nation, divided in time and space.
