Poetics of genre of novel in interpretation оf Margerite Yourcenar :polemic tranfer from Lafayette to Lagerlof

The article is devoted to the question of the genre of novel in its inter-pretation of Marguerite Yourcenar, French novelist, the first woman enteredinto the number of the immortals of the French Academy in 1981. The rea-son of this literary comparative analysis of the genre of XVII-th and XX-thcenturies was get from the short note pointed by Yourcenar in her article onSelma Lagerlöf, the first woman awarded the title of Nobel prize laureate inliterature in 1909, with a short passing remark concerning works of Mm. deLafayette in general. This article symbolically included into collection“Sous bénéfice d’inventaire” (1962) is regarded the conception of corre-spondence between two notions, like ‘epic’ and ‘heroic’ ones, inherited bethe European literature from the traditions of the Ancient Greece.
