S.A. Esenin's poetry in China

The article is devoted to the scientific issues of literary studies in China against the background of Russian. In this article, the author analyzes the situation related to the evolution and current state of Chinese literary studies of the life and work of the Russian poet of the Silver Age Sergei Yesenin. The author of the article describes the history of the translation of S. Yesenin's poetry and the publication of studies of the poet's work in China. The article presents an analysis of the works of Chinese scientists studying Yesenin. In particular, it is said about Hu Yuzhi, Jiang Guangqi - the first translators who introduced China to Yesenin and his work. Simultaneously with the translation of the poems, Chinese translators translated other works of Yesenin, thanks to which Chinese readers and scholars highly appreciate the originality of Yesenin's poetry. The author of the article emphasizes the decline of research activity in modern Chinese literary studies and the need to update the research literary base for the research of Yesenin's work and in general for the research of foreign literature. In addition, the article points out that in China there is a lag in "mastering the dynamics of foreign research" about Yesenin, in this regard, it is necessary to translate foreign research and study Western experience. Chinese scientists should rely on existing research foundations and materials in the wider world literary environment in order to bring them in line with the latest achievements in the study of Sergei Yesenin's work in other countries. Given the possibility of bringing Russian Yesenin studies closer to the world literary practice, their model and methodology are of great importance for the development of literary studies of foreign literature in China.
