The concept of social therapy as a method for addressing social and psychological problems

The paper deals with the concept of social therapy as a way to solve social and psychological problems amid civilization breakdown, humanity’s transition to open information space, the updated problem of deficiency of personality, its communicative incompetence in the context of social and economic turbulence, and personal desire to feel psychologically and financially secure. Social therapy has recently become widespread as a method of psychological intervention. Its possible effects on both the person and society are analyzed. The authors define social therapy as an integrative method consisting of the following models of psychotherapy: medical (social treatment method), psychological (influence method related to training and career guidance), sociological (a tool of social control), and philosophical ones (mass communication).
