This study examines the psychological constructs of “habit” and “attitude”, discussing their similarities and differences from the perspective of D.N. Uznadze’s theory of attitude within its hierarchical conception, as proposed by A.G. Asmolov in the activity approach. It is emphasized that attitude is formed unconsciously and precedes conscious activity, arising from the interaction of human needs and external conditions. A habit, in contrast, represents automated behavior formed as a result of the repeated performance of actions under specific conditions. Habits are executed with minimal conscious control, thereby conserving cognitive resources. The analysis highlights the fact that both habits and attitudes are formed through the repeated execution of similar actions, demonstrating a proximity between these concepts. The aim of this study is to propose a typology of habits based on the names of the attitudes that shape them - operational, goal-oriented, and meaning-based. As evidence, the results of an analysis of domestic (Russian) literature sources are presented.
