The article deals with the features of the statement of the functional-pedagogical problems as the basis for the text-book «Medical thesis writing» working out. The problems revealed within the main research work training functions are: training, bringing up, developing. It describes the functional features of the structure of the text-book. It determines teaching material assessment criteria to form the content of the text-book. The teaching material was designed so that a trainee does not only obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills, but also forms a teacher-researcher personality.
