Further training of employees of a tourism company as a component of a knowledge management system

The article is devoted to the urgent problem of determining methodological approaches to the design of continuing education programs for employees of tourism industry enterprises that meet current public needs. The specific conditions of employment, maintenance and organization of work at tourism enterprises, which are mainly micro and small enterprises, as well as the limited material and organizational resources for staff training, in themselves, necessitate the search for relevant forms and methods of training staff The situation is complicated by the growing deficit of qualifications that is typical for the present, due to changes in the tourist demand and supply market, which can lead to the loss of competitiveness of some of the staff of travel companies and have a negative impact on the stability of the business of a number of enterprises. Based on the analysis of data on the main areas of technological and organizational changes in the field of Russian tourism, the article concludes that one of the most popular approaches to maintaining the sustainability of micro and small businesses in tourism can be staff development, considered as a component of the system knowledge management in the enterprise. Taking into account the basic principles of the “personifying” approach in the theory of knowledge management and on the basis of studies of the needs for qualifications in tourism, four main directions have been identified for the formation of knowledge management strategies in travel companies: client-oriented, technological, organizational and managerial, and innovation and product also the characteristics of the content and forms of advanced training of tourism companies’ personnel corresponding to each direction are presented. The article contains conclusions drawn from the results of: 1) theoretical reviews of Russian and foreign scientific publications in the field of knowledge management and corporate education; 2) analytical reviews of business activity and employment in the field of domestic and international tourism of the Russian Federation; 3) summarizing the expert interviews conducted during the study with the leaders of tourism companies; 4) designing training programs for employees of tourist enterprises.
