Parameterizing discourse distinctions with the pragma-dialectical theory of argumentation

This article analyzes distinctions in discourse in editorial and publishing activities. The institutional nature of business and scientific discourse in editorial and publishing activities can be described as a «communicative relay», which for various reasons ends not in the discourse of coordination, but in communicative failure, i.e. discourse of differences. The expert discourse confined to analysis and criticism of a publication project has been researched herein. I also discuss typical schemata of the critical discourse of disparities and specify the use of hard designators to that effect. In terms of their perlocutionary effect all the discourse strategies lead to polarities. Due to pragma-dialectic flexibility The expert discourse, on the one hand, and the discourse of disparities eventually resolve the latter in a discourse of concord. Lack of strategic flexibility on either part results in a perlocutionary failure.
