The practice of using hackathons in teaching Russian as a foreign language

The article is devoted to the issues of gamification of the educational process in higher education institutions through game interaction between Russian students and students from the near abroad. In this case, the global problem of Russian language promotion in the world is solved. Team games in the format of hackathons with the use of case technologies are considered. Social hackathons which result in a new educational product -game-based study methods developed jointly by student groups to teach individual lexical and grammatical topics of the Russian language are described. The study aims to describe linguistic hackathons which can be used in teaching Russian as a foreign language. The object of the study is the development of content for hackathons. The methods are practice-oriented learning, case technology, adaptive learning methods, and role interaction methods. Three stages of hackathon implementation are suggested: presentation of information cases and independent learning of the topic (student role); self-checking by comparing one's answers with an electronic checklist (student role); independent development of the presentation algorithm based on the gamification approach, training and control (teacher role). A guidance paper for one of the linguistic hackathons is presented.
