Legal custom as a resource for patriotic education of students

The article studies the legal custom as a primary resource of patriotic education in the national educational system. We have carried out a comprehensive analysis of the value foundations of the structure, content, methods and organizational forms of patriotic education in the system of general education. For the research work we have used axiological and cultural approaches as well as comparative and typological historical methods. The article determines the scientific and pedagogical foundations of the process of development of patriotic values among students in a modern comprehensive school. We have analyzed the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the domestic system of patriotic education, studied the legal context of the process of dissemination of patriotic values, and characterized the legal framework for the formation of civic and patriotic education of schoolchildren. The results of the study can be used to organize a system for improving the quality of fostering traditional values among students and improving the process of legal support for patriotic education in educational institutions of the Russian Federation
