Statement of the problem. This article is devoted to Italian prepositional deverbatives, which act as a means of actualizing the taxis categorial meanings of simultaneity and non-simultaneity. The issue of taxis actualization in the Italian language still remains unexplored, and thus determines the relevance of the study. The purpose of the article is to describe prepositional deverbatives as a means of taxic actualization in Italian language utterances. In this paper, the term ‘prepositional deverbative’ is used and interpreted as a combination of a deverbative with a preposition of circumstantial semantics. The focus of this study is on Italian prepositional deverbatives, which include such prepositions of temporal semantics as a (al, all`), durante, mentre, prima di, prima che, dopo. The research material - utterances based on prepositional deverbatives with temporal prepositions - was obtained by the method of directed sampling from the electronic database of the Leipzig National Corpus. The prepositional deverbatives under consideration include affixal names of action ending with -aggio, -eggio, -enza, -o, -zio, -io, -ta, -zione, -sione, -ura. Provided that the actional semantics of the generating verbs is preserved and combined with prepositions, they show the ability to taxis realization. Research results. The study found that Italian prepositional deverbatives with temporal prepositions a (al, all`), durante, mentre, prima di, prima che, dopo act as taxis co-actualizers of categorical meanings of simultaneity, precedence and succession.
