Pre-translation analysis of migration infographics: cognitive-discursive aspect

The article considers the pre-translation analysis of infographics in cognitive-discursive aspect (application of frame modeling method), which allowed to structure extensive data in the field of migration discourse obtained on Spanish-language infographics. The study of infographics as a special way of presenting information is seen as relevant, because the rapid development of new technologies and the availability of visual data on migration issues in the Internet open up new perspectives in the study of migration discourse. Considering that the main purpose of infographic is to structure data, and their transmission through symbols corresponding to the described object, triggers various cognitive processes, when translating infographic translator faces a number of difficulties, which can be overcome by cognitivediscursive analysis. Due to the ongoing globalization, the migration discourse is increasingly attracting the attention of researchers. This type of discourse is understood, on the one hand, as a kind of social practice, since it is formed by social agents and events, and on the other hand as a communicative process between its participants, which forms the language material for infographics. Within the framework of cognitivediscursive approach to language material, the phenomenon of migration was considered, reflected in the format of information graphics, and the frame of the MIGRATION concept was modeled with a subsequent analysis of language units, verbaling the concept, and the semantic relations between language implementations are analyzed. The pre-translation analysis of the Spanish-language infographic on migration resulted in a mental construction, which was recorded as interrelated verbal representations.
