Statement of the problem. In this article, the authors identify the contours of a forthcoming, somewhat larger-scale study of the mentality of Siberians in terms of the correlation of age strata through verbal responses to stimuli. As initial stages, methods were considered to identify attitudes towards the concept of ‘native’, ‘home’, and additional characteristics of these concepts. Here are the results of a study conducted in September-October 2025 among students in the city of Krasnoyarsk. The subject of the study is the specifics of the value attitude of students of Krasnoyarsk universities to the ‘holy’ place and the concepts of ‘holy’ and ‘holiness’. The survey is based on the technique of finishing a statement, supplemented by the technique of interpreting lexemes that stimulate verbal activity. The study reveals a number of features in young people’s understanding of these concepts. The purpose of the article is to present the current authentic material for judging the state of values in the youth environment and their dynamics. The literature review contains references to a number of studies related to understanding the dynamics of ideas about holiness and holy places. The authors use survey methods, questionnaires, and further analysis in comparison with some previous data on the understanding of holiness and holy places. The authors conclude that further research is necessary, including comparative research in terms of age strata, local variants of consciousness, and identification of regional differences and similarities. The authors’ contribution to the study of the transformation of ideas about a holy place and holiness consists in proposing adjustments to the understanding of the connection between the native and the holy in the worldviews of young people.
