Preliminary results of archaeological survey on the islands and coastal areas of Novosibirsk reservoir and Ob river in 2015

Department of Rescue Archaeology of Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography SB RAS conducted archaeological survey on the islands and the coastal areas of the Novosibirsk reservoir in Iskitim, Orda, Suzun districts of the Novosibirsk region, Kamensky and Krutikhinsky District of the Altai territory in 2015 field season. We aimed to find the new archaeological objects on the islands and the coastal areas of the Novosibirsk reservoir and Ob River, plane and realize the measures, preserving the archaeological sites under the critical conditions. Thus, we explored the area from Tula to Meret villages for more than 200 km. As a result, we estimated the known archaeological objects on a Borok island of Novosibirsk reservoir in Krutikhinsky district of Altai territory: ground burial complex Krutikha 5 and Krutikha 4 settlement. Two new archaeological sites were revealed: a single Kukui 1 barrow (Kamensky district of the Altai Territory) and Malyshevo Sloboda (Suzun district of the Novosibirsk Region), founded in 1722 and played a significant role in the Kolyvan-Kuznetsk fortified barrier and lives of local people. We collected the paleontological material in the taluses of the Taradanovo ravine. Expedition opened a trench in area 10 m 2, cutting the remains of defensive construction in ditch and wall, at the territory of Malyshevo Sloboda (quarter) the archaeological site. We obtained the archaeological material, correlated with chronology of Sloboda. Generally, the 2015 exploration work permitted to find the several new objects of archaeological heritage and identify the most perspective areas for further research.
