Preliminary remarks on the role of dissociative processes in the dynamics of panic attacks

The work considers the manifestations of panic attacks. The most significant directions in the study of panic disorder are highlighted. The importance of studying protective mechanisms in therapeutic work with panic attacks is justified. It has been suggested that dissociation in some cases may underlie the formation of panic attacks. It has been shown that the language of internal conflict is not suitable for interpreting dissociated material.
