The article analyzes the importance of the discipline of cultural studies in the educational process of modern higher education, which today has largely moved away from classical developments and academic principles of education. If we talk about teaching subjects, then the traditional lecture option remains predominant against the background of the widespread use of various online forms of education. The lecture is sometimes completely replaced by the available means of universal computer information. Direct communication with the audience in the modern world remains an important art that allows you to convey information and interact with the audience, organically using the techniques of storytelling and visual demonstration of illustrative material. Considering the lecture as an important educational unit, the authors address the issue of the professionalism of the discipline taught in online education, focusing on the analysis of classical works of art as enduring examples of artistic heritage in the formation of ethical norms, aesthetic taste, and always relevant universal values. The purpose of this article is to analyze this relationship and the significance of this phenomenon within the boundaries of the modern educational process. In the context of the rapid development of information technology and mobile communication, the teaching of cultural studies retains its unique importance. The art criticism method makes it possible to identify the urgency of existing problems and assess their relevance.
