Teaching pathophysiology in lingua franca: problems and solutions

Бесплатный доступ

The article highlights the main problems that arise in teaching pathophysiology with a translation service into English and French. These are: firstly, the problems of adaptation to a new educational as well as socio-cultural environment, secondly, different levels of training and language skills, and finally, different attitudes towards animal experiments among foreign students within the same academic group. Classes conducted with the translation service are less informative compared to those taught in the student’s native language. In this regard, the following measures have been proposed: improving the qualifications and language competencies of teachers so that they can teach in an intermediary language, improving the methodological base for teaching, and using multimedia technologies including educational videos.
