Reasons for raw protein falsification in feeds and methods of its detection

This article emphasizes the relevance of the problem of concentrated feeds falsification, which is associated with the absence of strict requirements for raw materials (components), as well as for the finished product. Feeds counterfeiting has a negative impact on farm animals, the duration of their productive use, the quantity and quality of livestock products obtained. This article describes the studies aimed at detecting and confirming crude protein falsification in concentrated feed. Since the issue of feed falsification by introducing low-quality components with a loss of nutritional properties of feed is acute, our studies have shown an urgent need to control the toxic safety of feed on counterfeiting them with nitrogen-containing substances of non-protein origin. The feeds of the Vologda Region are the basis for the study. The feed quality was considered according to the actual data for the period 2018-2020.
