This article is examining the problems that are connected with the methods of teaching the humanities and social and political sciences. The application of the principle of «teaching through solving problems» provides more effective self-instruction, formation of skills and abilities, activization of studies. The principle «teaching through solving problems» envisages taking into account the type of institute, the future speciality of students, a better training before the tests and the exams. The use of the structural charts opens new possibilities for the application of new methods in study of the humanities and social and political disciplines.
