Application of virtual reality technologies in professional training of future software engineers

In modern conditions, there is an increasing interest among scientists and practitioners in finding effective technologies that enhance the quality of education at all levels. The problem of preparing future specialists in this field becomes particularly relevant, which, in turn, requires clarification of key concepts that characterize this area of research, as well as the identification of the specifics, advantages, and limitations of modern technologies that allow for greater effectiveness in training future software engineers for professional activities. The aim of the study is to reveal the essence and content of the concept of “virtual reality technologies” (VR technologies) and to identify the functions, features, and advantages of their use in the professional training of future software engineers. To achieve this goal, research methods such as analysis of scientific literature (to determine the theoretical foundations of the study), synthesis of the obtained information (to characterize the key concept of “virtual reality technologies”), and specification (to identify the specifics, advantages, and limitations of using virtual reality technologies in the professional training of future software engineers) were employed. As a result of the conducted research, an author's interpretation of the concept of “virtual reality technologies” has been provided, along with the functions, specifics, and advantages of their application in the professional training of future software engineers.
