Principles of lexicographical description of words in the Mongolian-Russian-Yakut dictionary

The article deals with the basic principles of lexicographic description in a new project on Yakut lexicography "The Mongolian-Russian-Yakut Dictionary", a collaborative effort between the Institute for Humanities Research and Problems of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Institute of Language and Literature of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Yakut bilingual lexicography has a rich history, but the experience of working on a multilingual dictionary, when translation from Mongolian into Yakut is carried out through the Russian language, is presented for the first time. The relevance of the article is related to the need of finding effective methods in the process of creating a dictionary and especially indirect translation methods. The project is the first step of Yakut linguists in comparative lexicography with the Mongolian language, which will become the basis for theoretical and applied research in the future. The purpose of the article is to determine the basic principles of lexicography of words in indirect translation, its objectives - to test the methods and techniques of equivalent translation, apply them in the word description, describe the best ways to design a dictionary entry.
